Ripe For Revival’s Mobile Market Program takes our mission on the road by utilizing large buses and trailers that have been transformed into pay-what-you-can retail markets. The Mobile Markets provide access to fresh and local food to areas that are considered “food deserts” while placing a strong focus on health and nutrition education, economic development, and empowerment of communities across North Carolina.
OUR PROGRAMS
WHAT WE DO
Mobile Market Program
Provisions Program
The Provisions Program at Ripe For Revival bridges the gap between food abundance and food insecurity through several key initiatives. Twice a year, we organize large-scale food distributions, assembling thousands of boxes filled with fresh produce, eggs, meats, and other essential items, which are distributed to communities lacking access to nutritious, local food. By partnering with local producers, we ensure the food is healthy and supports the regional agricultural economy. Additionally, our education initiative teaches adults and children about agriculture, nutrition, and cooking, while our new Community Culinary Outreach Program aims to engage and inspire through culinary education and cooking demonstrations. Our goal is to make a tangible impact on food security and promote well-being in underserved areas.
Farming Growth Program
Our Farming Growth Program is designed to empower communities by establishing and managing community farms at schools, churches, and partner locations. These farms serve as living classrooms where individuals can learn hands-on techniques for growing their own food, gaining valuable agricultural skills. The produce harvested not only benefits the local community but also supports our mobile market programs, ensuring that fresh, nutritious food reaches those who need it most. By fostering local food production, we aim to create a sustainable, self-sufficient food ecosystem that strengthens community ties and enhances food security.
